LATE HOMECOMING | Gig Review The Horn | January Edition 2016

LATE HOMECOMING
The Horn St Albans
Reviewed January 2016

With an impressive video for their latest single we decided to check out Hertfordshire's hot tip for 2016 prior to their Barfly appearance on 21 January in Camden.

The Horn is a fantastic small venue which is next to St Albans City train station - so easy to get to.    The front bars are very swish for a music venue and offer great food.  The toilets are legendary - and we won't spoil the suprise by telling you why !!!! You have to visit to find out - but keep your camera phones in your pocket however much you want to take photos.

Late Homecoming took the stage with a chaotic swagger reminiscent of the the early Libertines but they were soon into their UK rock style and produced song after song with very decent hooks and a high level of musicianship.  They have a double lead vocal which provides different vocal textures and gives each song a real identity.

Whether it is part of the show or not, we enjoyed the endings of each song which seemed designed to allow a different musician to finish last.  The band chat alot on stage and at one point the drummer refused to play the song the lead singer had just introduced. Pure comedy gold.

Supported by a good audience of both male and female fans this band could be massive.  They have the looks of One Direction, but have the sound and musicianship of a young Enter Shikari and were armed with  some very edgy and tuneful rock songs.  They are based all over Hertfordshire and hopefully in 2016 they can go on to bigger and greater things.

If you get a chance to see them live then do go along and check out their Facebook and Twitter pages for the videos.

They play a late show at THE JUBILEE CLUB at LONDON CAMDEN BARFLY on Friday 21st JANUARY.  See the Jubilee Club twitter account for entry offers.
